Phase 1
Your new kitchen or bath start with a visit to our showroom! At our first meeting we will discuss your priorities and wish lists by reviewing your filled-out Planning Survey. This tool will help to determine your needs and enable us to provide you with ideas you may not have considered.
During this hour-long meeting, we will recommend appliance locations, cooking and seating clearances and storage solutions determined by the way you like to live and work. You will see materials for your cabinetry, counter surfaces, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and lighting options. Kitchens and bathrooms are quite easily the most technically complex rooms of your residence. Hence, the project of designing and manufacturing a kitchen or bath that is efficient, productive and aesthetically pleasing takes both time and specialized skills. A review of the initial job plan is usually scheduled two weeks after your first visit, at which time you can expect floor plan drawings of your project and initial cost estimates that fall within your budget.
Phase 2
Cranberry Hill Kitchens only produces custom cabinetry so your new kitchen or bathroom is uniquely designed just for you! During this phase, decisions about details, finish materials and budget options are carefully considered. The review process may be as short as a week, or may take several weeks depending on changes made to the original design plan.
When Phase II is completed, Cranberry Hill Kitchens will provide you with elevation drawings of all cabinetry, showing all appliances, cabinetry details including finishes, and any built-ins if they are included in your individual design. Changes to these drawings will be made if required and related pricing revisions will be discussed.
The cost of this phase is 10% of the entire estimate given to you in Phase I and is payable at the start of Phase II. This retainer is applied towards your final cabinetry manufacture contract in Phase III. In the event you do not choose to begin Phase III, Cranberry Hill Kitchens retains the design fee.
Phase 3
After your approval of the final elevation drawings, Cranberry Hill Kitchens will draft the cabinetry contract. This contract will include the entire cost of the cabinetry manufacture and installation, as well as any indicated counter tops, hardware, built-ins and finishing options such as paint or stain.
The contract will indicate your initial 10% payment already received for the elevation drawings. It will also indicate the payment schedule and installation date.
Phase 4
The planning continues! It is common for your designer to shop with you and help in the selection of such things as stone (for counter tops), flooring (tiles or hardwood) and colour selection.
The installation of your cabinetry is usually completed in a day or two. Solid surface and stone counter tops usually follow ten to fourteen days later. At that time, appliances and backsplash tiles can be installed.
Building quality, hand-crafted, custom cabinetry can easily take from eight to sixteen weeks, so a new kitchen or bath from start to finish could require three to four months of planning and construction. Many of our clients enjoy our Total Project Management services. Cranberry Hill Kitchens works with only the most qualified and experienced trades people from Southern Ontario to deliver a unified, quality project that we will both be thrilled to see come to completion. We look forward to working with you on your exciting project!
