FAQs

Q?

How are prices determined?

A.

Your kitchen project is one of the most important investments you will make in your home. Your kitchen will most likely be the hub of activity in your residence. The price of your new kitchen will be determined by the wood species selected for your cabinetry, finish options, door and drawer construction, door and drawer styles, cabinet dimensions, moulding details, hardware, labour intensivity, quality of counter surfaces, and storage and waste accessories used. All of the possible options will be explored with your kitchen designer to determine what your requirements for quality, style and budget are. As a general framework, the average cost for the personal design, manufacture and installation of our custom kitchen cabinetry are usually above $40,000, in Canadian funds.

Q?

Do I require a kitchen designer if I have a builder or architect?

A.

Architects create the living spaces in a residence, and try to communicate a concept of how that living space can be utilized. Many architects refer their clients to Cranberry Hill Kitchens for specific and intricate design work. We are the ones to deal with the specifics of space utilization and cabinet design. In consultation with you, our designers will determine the best cabinet sizes, cooking clearances, seating options, and storage and waste solutions to meet your family's needs and habits.

Q?

When searching for a designer to take on my kitchen project, what should I look for, specifically?

A.

The kitchen is probably the most used room in the house and designing a functional and attractive kitchen is a very complex job that requires both experience and specialized skills.

You will find "designers" in locations such as hardware and big box stores who will supply you with a kitchen. Most have little or no experience in the true aspects of designing a kitchen. Many of them are not well versed in custom design. The design freedom we have here at Cranberry Hill Kitchens allows us to fit and proportion all the cabinets to your room. Other designs cannot do so because they use standard, prefabricated cabinets. Designers at Cranberry Hill Kitchens all have extensive design and technical expertise, including all elements of design and knowledge of building and fire codes.
